New Patient Special
Orthodontic Care Built for Real Families
Orthodontics isn’t only about appearance. Properly aligned teeth are easier to clean, function better, and are less likely to cause future dental problems.
At Lucero Dental Group, we’ve served Santa Ana families since 1986. Our approach focuses on clear communication, practical treatment options, and care that fits busy work and school schedules. Every member of our team speaks Spanish, so you can fully understand your options at every step.

Braces
Braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into healthier positions. They are a reliable option for children, teens, and adults, especially when alignment needs are more complex.
Braces allow precise control over tooth movement and are often the most efficient option for significant bite correction.
Short wait times Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to guide teeth into alignment. The aligners are discreet and can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing.
This option works well for teens and adults who want flexibility and a less noticeable treatment option. We use digital scanning to plan treatment accurately from the start.

Retainers After Treatment
After orthodontic treatment, retainers help keep teeth from shifting back. Retention is a critical part of long-term success.
We provide clear instructions and follow-up care to help maintain results.
Orthodontic Problems We Treat
Crowded or Overlapping Teeth
Crowding makes cleaning difficult and increases the risk of decay and gum problems. Orthodontic treatment creates space so teeth can align properly.
Gaps and Spacing
Large gaps can affect bite balance and trap food. Treatment closes unwanted spaces and distributes teeth evenly.
Bite Issues (Overbite, Underbite, Crossbite)
Bite problems can lead to uneven wear, jaw strain, and long-term damage. Orthodontics helps correct these issues so teeth function together properly.

Why Patients Choose Braces or Clear Aligners
Easier Long-Term Oral Health
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!Straight teeth are easier to keep clean. Orthodontic treatment reduces areas where plaque and food get trapped, lowering the risk of cavities and gum disease.
This helps protect your teeth and gums over time and reduces the need for more complex dental treatment later.
Improved Bite and Daily Comfort
When teeth don’t line up correctly, chewing can feel uneven and strain the jaw. Orthodontic treatment helps balance how your teeth come together.
Patients often notice easier chewing, clearer speech, and less jaw tension once alignment improves.
Confidence That Feels Natural
When your teeth are aligned, smiling often feels less guarded. Orthodontic treatment helps correct crowding, spacing, and bite issues that many patients feel self-conscious about.
The result is a smile that feels comfortable to use in daily life, not just in photos.

Phase 1 Orthodontics (Early Orthodontic Care)
For our younger patients, we offer phase 1 orthodontics. Phase 1 treatment focuses on guiding jaw and tooth development while children are still growing. This early approach can reduce the risk of more serious alignment problems later and, in some cases, shorten or simplify future orthodontic treatment.
Phase 1 orthodontics may help by:
- Creating space for incoming permanent teeth
- Guiding jaw growth into a healthier position
- Reducing crowding and bite problems early
- Lowering the chance of extractions later
Treatment usually begins between ages 6 and 10, depending on growth and development. Not every child needs early orthodontic care, which is why we focus on careful evaluation and clear recommendations—not automatic treatment.
We explain findings to parents in plain language and help families understand whether early treatment makes sense now or if monitoring is the better option.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer Saturday orthodontic appointments?
Yes. We offer Saturday appointments to make care easier for working families and students.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
Costs depend on treatment type and complexity. We review pricing, insurance, and payment options before treatment begins.
Can adults get orthodontic treatment?
Yes. Orthodontic treatment works at any age as long as teeth and gums are healthy. Many adults choose Invisalign for its flexibility.
What age should my child see an orthodontist?
We recommend an evaluation around age 7. Early assessment helps determine the best timing for treatment, even if braces aren’t needed right away.
Does Medi-Cal cover orthodontics in Santa Ana?
Medi-Cal may cover orthodontic treatment for eligible children and teens with qualifying needs. Our team helps review coverage and next steps.
What’s the difference between braces and Invisalign?
Braces stay on your teeth and are often used for more complex cases. Invisalign uses removable clear aligners and offers more flexibility. We help you decide which option fits your needs.
Is orthodontic treatment uncomfortable?
Some pressure is normal, especially early on or after adjustments. Most patients adapt quickly, and discomfort typically fades within a few days.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Treatment time varies. Many patients complete treatment in 12–24 months, depending on alignment needs and the type of treatment used.
